Mediation

Mediation is currently required as a first step to resolve divorce cases. This option takes the power out of the hands of a judge and puts such power into your hands. In a traditional setting, the judge has a limited amount of possibilities. Often, the resolution a judge provides does not meet the needs of either party. Through mediation, you have nearly limitless possibilities in terms of resolutions. You will work closely with the other party to come up with a creative outcome that works for both of you.

Collaborative Law

Collaborative law hinges on an initial commitment made between you and the opposition to work together to resolve your divorce through a settlement. This process puts the outcome of the case in the hands of you and your former spouse. The intent of the process is for you and your ex-spouse to work together to reach a mutually agreed-upon resolution that benefits both parties in some ways.
